What to do When an Accident Occurs
STEP 1:
Act immediately! Blot up any liquid spillage with absorbent tissue like a kitchen roll or a clean white towel.
STEP 2 :
Continue blotting by applying pressure until there is no further transfer of liquid. Do not scrub! Or use abrasive material.
STEP 3 :
Remove any solids with a blunt knife or spatula.
STEP 4 :
Remove any staining with a mild wool detergent mix before blotting out again.
STEP 5 :
Do not over-wet; work into the centre of the stain with circular motions using absorbent towelling.
STEP 6 :
Repeat all steps if necessary, and don’t panic! Keep flushing and blotting BUT never scrub.
STEP 7 :
For oil-based stains or delicate non-colour fast items, treat as above using proprietary solvent cleaners or household white spirit.
